The Dominion

To understand the Dominion We must go back to the beginnings of the UEL.  The UEL was tasked with colonization, but it was never clear as to what Man would do once we inevitably found extraterrestrial life.  Many felt that we could engage in prosperous dialog and usher in a greater society that incorporated other species and expanded our understanding of what it is like to be part of a truly galactic society.  Others did not.  Humans should stay with their kind and xenos should be subjugated to lesser roles in society.  Humans above all else.

So as the UEL expanded its reach, a small but vocal minority emerged and made known their displeasure in the amount of outreach being afforded these new cultures.  More and more it was obvious that the council of 12 was not acting in the best interest of Humankind, instead adopting a position of inclusiveness instead.

Unknown to the UEL, in the ranks of the Military, a secret sec was forming.  One of the side effects of the expansion into space was that mankind’s latent psychic abilities were starting to emerge.  More and more prescient individuals were emerging, and many did not like the things they saw.  The loss of Human individuality was seen as inevitable as we were absorbed more and more into the various governments, races, and species we were encountering.  None was more telling that the predicament of the Barad as the tools and slaves of the Draconids’.   These Psychic Arcanists saw enslavement in the guise of peace and friendship was all to clear to them.  More and more they plotted and planned.  They would not fall victim.

All this cane to a head when the Council of 12 decided that the Barad would be officially recognized as a part of the UEL and would be granted refugee status as they shook the yoke of the Draconid Empire.  This was the last straw.  The Arcanists knew that it was their time to strike.   They had the ships, they had the troops, and they had their hidden highly advanced TAP technology.  In one fail swoop they took control of the military bases on Signus Prime and Sanorius Major.  They declared themselves the Dominion and made it clear that they were the home for the advancement of Humankind in the galaxy.

Mirroring the UEL the Arcanist Council was formed.  12 of the most powerful Arcanists were given the rank if Chief Arcanist, with the head of the council known as the Arcanist Majoris.  Strike squads commanded by newly indoctrinated Optios would form the heart and soul of the Dominion.   Arcanists would form Strike Elements drawn from those squads and push forth into the cosmos.   A new dawn emerged at the feet of the Dominion.  One that every human could be proud of.  We would take new territory and expand the Human race and no x

enos would stand in our way, less they become the fodder that would drive the Dominion War machine.

All is not well at the moment though, as the fight against the Agaracale has not gone well. Heavy losses coupled with equipment failures and insufficient resources have taken its toll.  The UEL has dispatched their expeditionary forces to find out what the current situation is on Sarin’s rim.

With the arrival of the UEL Expedition forces, the Dominion has regrouped and been resupplied.  In the aftermath of their losses, an agreement has been reached and the Dominion is once again under the umbrella of the UEL.  Allowed some measure of autonomy and the ability to govern themselves to an extent will allow them to maintain their idealogy to some degree, though cooler heads have prevailed and even though many new worlds have joined the UEL, it is becoming clear that the human element will not be left behind.  What will happen to the Arcanist council is still the biggest question, as there are some on the council that are not overly thrilled with this development.  One thing is certain though, without the help of the UEL, the Dominion will fall to the new threats that have arrived on Sarin’s Rim.
