The Warpstride Gharials are a towering, centaur‑like reptilian species bred for war in the shimmering fault‑zones where realspace bleeds into the proto‑dimensional Warpstream. Their upper bodies resemble heavily scaled saurian warriors, while their lower halves form powerful quadrupedal frames capable of explosive acceleration across broken terrain. Every cohort marches to battle clad in refractor‑plated harnesses and bearing the Corps’ signature conversion weaponry, armaments that transmute kinetic or thermal energy into volatile warp‑charged blasts. To face a Gharial line is to witness a barrage of reality‑distorting firepower, each shot bending light, warping sound, and unraveling armor at the molecular level.
What truly defines the Warpstride Gharials, however, is their uncanny warp‑phasing ability. By partially slipping their bodies into the adjacent sub‑dimension, they can blur, shimmer, or vanish outright for fractions of a second, just long enough for enemy volleys to pass harmlessly through displaced space. Entire phalanxes can ripple across the battlefield in synchronized pulses, appearing to stutter forward in impossible jumps as if time itself were misaligned around them. This makes them notoriously difficult to target and even harder to pin down. When the Gharials commit to a charge, their warp‑phased advance becomes a terrifying spectacle: a stampede of reptilian war‑centaurs flickering in and out of existence, closing the distance with unstoppable, reality‑bending momentum.
