Description
The Luminant Host traces its lineage to before the third war of change, when the last remnants of humanity’s frontier nobility went into hiding and fled to the stars before the colony ships were born. Cut off from the earth, these exiled houses learned to preserve their dwindling technologies through ritual, litany, and feudal obligation. Over generations, the distinction between engineering and enchantment blurred until the Host emerged as a warrior‑order whose “miracles” were simply the disciplined application of ancient devices no one fully understood.
To outsiders, the Host appears as a crusading army of low‑tech knights and men‑at‑arms, clad in plate‑like composites and bearing ancient firearms, shields, and archaic banners. But when battle is joined, their relic‑tech awakens in blinding displays of “holy radiance.” Beam Rifles erupt with coherent light. Shields shimmer with refractive wards. Sages chant activation rites that cause dormant circuitry to flare like runes of power. What the ignorant call magic, the Host calls the Lumen, the sacred inheritance of their forebears.
