The Dra’Vhorran are towering, bipedal creatures resembling a fusion of an earth walrus and bear — thickly furred, broad-shouldered, and built for endurance in the harshest climates. Their hides are layered with dense fat and armored dermal plates beneath the fur, giving them natural resistance to both cold and kinetic impact. Thier tusks are long and sharp, used for ritual combat and close-quarters mauling. Despite their bulk, Dra’Vhorran move with surprising stealth, using coordinated pack tactics to encircle and overwhelm prey.
Dra’Vhorran are fiercely loyal to their hunting packs, often forming lifelong bonds. Betrayal is punished by tusk removal and exile — a fate worse than death. Before major battles, clans perform the *Throatcall*, a guttural chorus that echoes across valleys and instills dread in enemies. They believe in *The Endless Maw* — a spiritual force that consumes all things in time. To die feeding the Maw is the highest honor.
The signature weapon of the Dra’Vhorran is the **Plasmafang**, a repeating energy crossbow that fires superheated bolts of ionized plasma. Brutal, reliable, and designed for the rigors of pack warfare. Firing in bursts of three, with a secondary mode that launches a charged bolt that is capable of melting armor.
Dra’Vhorran do not fight alone. They hunt. Packs fan out and collapse inward, driving prey into kill zones. Vocalizations are used to signal flanks, feints, and kill orders. Plasmafang volleys soften targets before the tusks close in for the kill. They are especially feared in cold environments, where their natural adaptations give them dominance. Entire colonies have vanished under the ice, leaving only tusk-shaped scorch marks and the echo of the Throatcall.
